Xi Reiterates Opposition to Taiwan Independence at National Day Reception

At a reception marking the PRC's 77th anniversary, Xi Jinping called to deepen cross-Strait exchanges, combat separatist forces advocating Taiwan independence and oppose external interference. Separately, Taiwan's defense minister said Taipei is in continuous talks with Washington on arms sales and has received assurances since the Washington summit that US policy on Taiwan has not changed.
