Taiwan Detects 4 PLA Aircraft Sorties, 3 Crossing into Central/Southwestern/Eastern ADIZ

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected 4 PLA aircraft sorties, 7 PLAN vessels and 4 official ships operating around Taiwan in the 24 hours to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) September 21, 2026; 3 of the 4 sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line, entering the central, southwestern and eastern ADIZ sectors. Taiwan's armed forces responded with CAP aircraft, navy ships and coastal missile systems. The tally held at the low end of the post-Jioupeng-drill range for a second straight day after the sharp pullback from the Sept 18 window high (28 sorties, 24 crossing), even as naval and coast-guard presence stayed elevated relative to early September.
