Taiwan Detects 20 PLA Aircraft Sorties, 13 Crossing into Northern/Central/Southwestern/Eastern ADIZ

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected 20 PLA aircraft sorties, 11 PLAN vessels and 3 official ships operating around Taiwan in the 24 hours to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) September 19, 2026; 13 of the 20 sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line, entering the northern, central, southwestern and eastern ADIZ sectors. Taiwan's armed forces responded with CAP aircraft, navy ships and coastal missile systems. The tally is a step down from the Sept 18 window high of 28 sorties (24 crossing) recorded on the final day of the Jioupeng Base live-fire drill, but remains elevated relative to the low-activity days earlier in the week (4 on Sept 14, 8 on Sept 15).
