PLA ADIZ Activity Rebounds to 11 Sorties
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected 11 PLA aircraft sorties, 8 PLAN vessels and 2 official ships operating around Taiwan in the 24-hour window ending 06:00 (UTC+8) on August 16, 2026. Seven of the 11 sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line, entering the northern and central sectors of Taiwan's ADIZ. Activity rebounded from the August 15 low of 4 sorties, continuing the post-Han Kuang pattern of day-to-day fluctuation in the single-to-low-double-digit range.
