Hijri Followers Rally with Israeli Flags in Sweida on Oct. 7 Anniversary

On October 7, 2026 followers of Druze leader Hikmat al-Hijri held a pro-Israel rally in Sweida, waving Israeli flags and displaying portraits of Benjamin Netanyahu. Organisers tied to Hijri's National Guard framed it as opposition to extremism; local sources and many Syrians condemned it as unrepresentative of the province.
