Peru Extends Anchovy Fishing Suspension Again

Peru's fisheries authority extended its suspension of anchovy fishing in the North-Central zone beyond the initial June 10 deadline as warm coastal waters continued to disperse the stock. May 2026 anchovy landings for fishmeal and fish oil had already collapsed 97.6% year-over-year, from 1.33 million to just 31,771 tons.
