China Water Cannon Injures Philippine Sailor at Scarborough

CCG-3301 fired water cannons at BRP Datu Cabaylo near Scarborough Shoal on October 8; one Philippine sailor was injured when the cannon blast tore through the bridge. Two CCG cutters and one PLAN warship were involved. USNI News published video evidence. China's involvement of a PLAN warship (rather than purely CCG) in the operation was noted as an escalation.
