North Korea Unveils New 155mm Self-Propelled Artillery With 60km Range — Targeting Seoul
KCNA reported that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited a munitions factory to inspect production of new 155mm self-propelled gun-howitzers with a range exceeding 60km (37 miles), sufficient to strike Seoul and its wider capital region from positions near the DMZ. The weapons were designated for deployment to a North Korean artillery unit on the southern border in 2026. South Korean and US military analysts described the new system as a significant enhancement to North Korea's conventional threat against Seoul, home to 10 million people, independent of the DPRK's nuclear arsenal.
