Children Killed in Renewed Baidoa Fighting, UNICEF Says
Children have been killed and injured in renewed fighting in Baidoa, with a health facility damaged, per UNICEF and humanitarian agencies. Clashes between government forces and fighters loyal to the former South West State president have intensified in recent weeks. About two million children are acutely or severely malnourished nationwide and 26,000 people in Baidoa face catastrophic food insecurity; WFP now reaches just over 670,000 people.
