Heavy Fighting Enters Sixth Day in Basra, Middle Shabelle, ~35km Northwest of Mogadishu

Sustained combat between Somali government forces — including NISA and Danab special forces conducting intelligence-led operations — and Al-Shabaab entered its sixth consecutive day around Basra, a village roughly 30-35 kilometres northwest of Mogadishu along the corridor stretching from the capital's Dayniile district through the Balcad-Afgooye area (reported by Garowe Online as Middle Shabelle; geolocated near the Lower Shabelle/Afgooye boundary). Both sides used heavy weapons; casualties remained unclear as access to the area was restricted.
