Al-Shabaab posted a propaganda video online — framed as an Eid celebration — glorifying its October 2025 assault on the Godka Jilacow prison in Mogadishu, operated by Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA). The video highlighted that one of the suicide commandos in the operation was the son of senior al-Shabaab spokesman Ali Mohamed Rage, underscoring the group's use of propaganda to maintain recruitment and morale despite ongoing military pressure from Operation Rolling Thunder.
