AFRICOM Conducts Airstrikes Against ISIS-Somalia in Puntland

U.S. Africa Command, in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, conducted airstrikes targeting ISIS-Somalia in the Puntland region. The strikes are part of ongoing US counterterrorism operations against the IS-Somalia affiliate based in northeastern Somalia, which has been active since 2015 as an offshoot of al-Shabaab.
