Chapitos Security Boss 'El Chuta' Indicted in Chicago on Terrorism and Drug Charges

| Sinaloa Split

A federal grand jury in Chicago indicted Jesus Omar Ibarra Felix, known as 'El Chuta' (age 49), a high-ranking Sinaloa Cartel security boss. Ibarra Felix led Las Fuerzas Especiales de Chuta (FECH), the armed security unit that protected Los Chapitos' narcotics operations after El Chapo's imprisonment. He allegedly served as plaza boss for the Ahome, Sinaloa region and conspired to import methamphetamine and fentanyl into the US from 2017 to 2026. Charges appear linked to cooperation from Ovidio and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, who pleaded guilty and agreed to assist US prosecutors. Ibarra Felix remains at large in Mexico; a warrant has been issued.
