JTF-WHEM's first strike ends two-month pause on boat strikes, killing 2

Under Gen. Francis Donovan's direction, the newly activated Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out its first lethal kinetic strike on a low-profile vessel — described in SOUTHCOM's video as a semi-submersible 'narco sub' — in the eastern Pacific, killing 2 people. It was the first Southern Spear-lineage strike since 21 June 2026, a roughly two-month pause, and brings the campaign's confirmed total to over 67 vessels destroyed and 200+ killed since September 2025.
