Day 690 — Sheinbaum Inaugurates Archivo General Agrario in Mexico City

| Sheinbaum (2024–)

On August 22, 2026 (Day 690, Saturday), President Sheinbaum inaugurated the Centro Nacional de Atención Agraria and Archivo General Agrario in Mexico City — a facility housing the Registro Agrario Nacional, the Procuraduría Agraria, and the country's historical agrarian records. Agrarian Secretary Edna Elena Vega Rangel called it "the second in importance after the Archivo General de la Nación," with over 45,000 linear meters of documents, including more than 100,000 maps and land-tenure records dating to 1917 and colonial-era materials, plus the decrees of all Fourth Transformation land-restitution grants (60,000+ hectares to date). Construction began in 2022 under President López Obrador on land donated by Sheinbaum during her tenure as Mexico City mayor.
