Saudi Arabia Positioned for Oil Revenue Windfall as Hormuz Disruptions Lift Prices
Bloomberg analysis finds Saudi Arabia well-positioned to benefit financially from Strait of Hormuz disruptions caused by the ongoing US-Iran conflict. With Saudi Arabia exporting the bulk of its crude through the Red Sea route via the East-West Pipeline, higher global oil prices more than compensate for any logistical disruption, giving Riyadh a competitive revenue advantage over Gulf neighbors more dependent on the Persian Gulf export route. Saudi Arabia is the only major Gulf producer with meaningful Red Sea crude export capacity.
