Burkinabè Forces Kill 223 Civilians Including 56 Children — Nondin and Soro

Burkina Faso's military forces, reportedly supported by VDP (Volunteer Defenders of the Fatherland) militias, summarily execute at least 223 civilians including 56 children in the villages of Nondin and Soro in an apparent reprisal operation. HRW and Amnesty International call the killings potential crimes against humanity. The Burkinabè junta denies the incident and restricts media access.
