Drone strikes ignite fires at Ryazan and Novokuibyshevsk refineries

Ukrainian drones struck the Ryazan refinery (one of Moscow's main fuel arteries) and the Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Samara region on the morning of August 2, 2025, igniting large fires. This strike is widely marked as the opening blow of the sustained refinery campaign that triggered the crisis.
