Prosecutors charge 66-year-old suspect with nine offences over alleged plot against Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz

|Poland Crisis

Warsaw regional prosecutors announced on 13 Oct that the suspect, identified as Krzysztof N., 66, faces nine charges. The most serious is plotting to forcibly overthrow state authorities, including the PM and Council of Ministers, using stockpiled explosives (2–15 years). Other counts concern online recordings promoting violent seizure of power, promoting war and inciting crimes motivated by nationality, ethnicity, race or political views. Improvised explosive materials were reportedly found in his apartment; prosecutors say a recording shows him recruiting a group of several hundred members. He has not admitted the offences and refused to explain. A court was due to rule on pre-trial custody on 14 Oct; the outcome was not found.
