Tusk announces foiled Russian-ordered murder plot in Warsaw

| Poland Crisis

PM Tusk announced that a 29-year-old Russian citizen, detained 7 August, had been recruited by Russian intelligence to kill a person with joint US and Ukrainian citizenship in Warsaw. Police said he was charged with planning a murder and accepting a murder order (2–15 years); he is in pretrial detention. Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said US services cooperated. This is a separate case from the October threats.
