Gilda Lozoya Files Amparo Against Agronitrogenados Linkage as FGR Seeks Her Imprisonment

| Peña Nieto (2012–2018)

Gilda Susana Lozoya Austin, sister of former Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya, filed an indirect amparo on August 1, 2026 challenging her formal linkage to the Agronitrogenados criminal process over an alleged $2.58 million money-laundering transfer tied to the 2012 purchase of her brother's Lomas de Bezares house. Simultaneously, the FGR appealed the conditional release she was granted in July, seeking to overturn her provisional measures and impose preventive imprisonment instead. A judge scheduled an August 11, 2026 hearing on whether to grant a definitive suspension in her amparo case, with a constitutional hearing set for September 29, 2026 that could produce a ruling on the merits.
