Emergency and governor's rule imposed in KP

After a cabinet meeting chaired by PM Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari approved emergency and governor's rule in KP, suspending the PTI provincial government. The army was authorised to deploy in aid of civil power. Islamabad cited militancy and law and order; the arrangement could last about six months. Some outlets report the announcement as Oct 12.
