Ademola Adeleke Wins Second Term as Osun Governor, Accord Party's First-Ever Gubernatorial Victory

| Nigeria

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke won re-election in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, polling 511,067 votes (50.8%) against 444,815 (44.2%) for APC's Bola Oyebamiji — a margin of 66,252 votes across 1,005,800 ballots cast at 3,763 polling units. Adeleke carried 19 of the state's 30 local government areas to Oyebamiji's 11; Najeem Salaam of the ADC placed a distant third with 17,180 votes. Running for the Accord Party after his earlier defection, Adeleke delivered the party's first-ever Nigerian governorship win, while several APC former governors who campaigned for Oyebamiji suffered a high-profile setback. INEC declared the result following collation that stretched into August 16.
