Drone Wreckage Found on Moldovan Soil Near Chisinau-Basarabeasca Highway

A downed aerial object was discovered on the morning of August 27 along the Chisinau-Basarabeasca highway after a local resident spotted the wreckage and alerted police — only the second time debris has been confirmed on Moldovan territory during the August drone crisis, after the August 9 Crocmaz find. Moldova's General Police Inspectorate deployed specialised forensic and bomb-disposal teams to secure the site and determine the object's origin and payload; no casualties or structural damage were reported. The discovery followed the overnight wave of five drone crossings across the Ștefan Vodă frontier and came hours before Moldova's Independence Day commemorations.
