Russia Vetoes UN International Tribunal for MH17
Russia vetoes a UN Security Council resolution (sponsored by Malaysia, Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Ukraine) that would have established an international criminal tribunal to prosecute those responsible for shooting down MH17. Russia casts the only vote against; China abstains. The veto forces the investigation to proceed through national Dutch courts. The Netherlands and Australia formally condemn Russia's veto.
