Chapitos Security Boss 'El Chuta' Indicted in Chicago on Narcoterrorism Charges
A federal grand jury in Chicago indicts Jesus Omar Ibarra Felix, known as 'El Chuta' (age 49), who led Las Fuerzas Especiales de Chuta (FECH) — the Chapitos' paramilitary security arm. He faces narcoterrorism, material support of terrorism, drug trafficking conspiracy, and firearms charges for operations spanning 2017–2026. The indictment names co-conspirators including Fausto Isidro Meza Flores ('Chapo Isidro'), who has since defected to La Mayiza. El Chuta remains at large in Mexico. Prosecutors say the case was built in significant part from cooperation by Ovidio Guzmán López and Joaquín Guzmán López, demonstrating how the Guzmán brothers' cooperation continues to deliver high-value Chapitos targets to US law enforcement.
