57th Anniversary — New Government Faces Same Demands

On the 57th anniversary, demonstrations continue at Plaza de las Tres Culturas. Under President Claudia Sheinbaum (inaugurated October 2024), civil society and families of victims press for completion of the Truth Commission's work. Sheinbaum pledges continued access to archives. The perpetrators of the massacre are all deceased, but families continue to demand formal acknowledgment, full accounting of victims, and symbolic reparations.
