Turkey Condemns, Pakistan's Asif Warns Pact "Will" Trigger Collective Response — But No Military Move Yet

Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues Statement No. 173 condemning the Houthi attacks "in the strongest terms," reaffirming support for Saudi sovereignty and warning the strikes "undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at bringing the conflict in Yemen to an end," while stopping short of any military commitment. Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif calls the attack "cowardly" and pledges "unwavering solidarity" with Saudi Arabia. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif goes further, telling reporters "there should be no ambiguity" that the Makkah agreement is a joint defence pact: "we are bound by the terms and conditions of this pact and, God willing, we will honour them in case there is a need... if there is any aggression against one member state, all three member states will respond." Asif stresses the pact is defensive, not a license for the three states to attack another country on their own initiative, and says he has no information about direct Saudi contacts requesting action. Separate reporting says Islamabad is weighing airstrikes on Houthi positions (including Saadah) but has made no final decision, pending a formal Saudi request.
