Nine Migrant Bodies Recovered Off Tajoura After Boat Capsizes

| Libya Conflict

The Tripoli branch of the Libyan Red Crescent recovered nine bodies over two days from a wooden boat carrying an estimated 19 people that capsized off Tajoura, roughly 22km east of Tripoli. Search and recovery operations continued in coordination with security forces, with the Red Crescent warning more bodies were likely to wash ashore given the boat's passenger count. The recoveries came the same week a separate boat that left Zuwara was intercepted by the charity ship EMERGENCY, which rescued 50 migrants and recovered seven bodies from that vessel.
