Settlers Besiege Three Palestinian Families in Qusra for Fourth Day, Cutting Water and Power

A settler siege of three Palestinian families in Qusra, south of Nablus, entered its fourth day on August 13, 2026. Extremist settlers erected makeshift structures blocking entrances to the homes of Youssef Hassan (with his wife and two young daughters) and the Abu Rida/Abu Ridi families beginning Sunday, August 9–10, cutting off water and electricity in what residents called an attempt to seize their land. IDF and Border Police entered Qusra for a three-day operation to clear settler outposts and, on Wednesday, dismantled settler tents and deployed an additional infantry battalion, calling the settler activity 'illegal, reprehensible and unacceptable.' Despite this, hours after the IDF said troops would not occupy the families' houses, the Hassan family remained unable to return to their own home and stayed in a third, empty house in the compound. One besieged family reported only two to three days of food remaining.
