IDF Central Command Chief: Israel Controls 60% of Gaza Strip Territory

IDF Central Command Chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth said Israeli forces control 60% of the Gaza Strip's territory, beyond the roughly 53% allotted to Israel under the October 2025 ceasefire's initial withdrawal line. Bluth said 'the threat of an invasion, as occurred nearly three years ago, is no longer possible.' Netanyahu had previously ordered the military to expand control further, to 70% of the enclave. The same day, Israeli airstrikes hit the Bureij and al-Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza.
