Israeli Settler Uses Vehicle to Block Palestinian Ambulance Transporting Critically Ill Patient in West Bank

| Israel-Palestine

Video footage published on May 8, 2026 and confirmed by the Times of Israel showed an Israeli settler using his vehicle to physically block a Palestinian ambulance from transporting a critically ill patient on a West Bank road south of Nablus. The ambulance, transporting a patient requiring urgent medical care, was forced to stop while the settler's vehicle blocked the road. The incident added to a documented pattern of settler harassment of Palestinian medical and emergency services. IDF Central Command Chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, who on May 1 had publicly labeled settler violence 'Jewish terror,' was informed of the incident. Rights groups B'Tselem and Médecins Sans Frontières documented similar incidents throughout 2025–2026. OCHA has previously reported that ambulance obstruction by settlers is a 'systemic' problem in parts of the West Bank. The incident came as 2026 settler violence injuries tracked at 360+ Palestinians through early May — the highest pace since records began.
