IDF Artillery Kills Pregnant Palestinian Woman and Two Children Near Kamal Adwan Hospital, Beit Lahia
Israeli artillery struck residential homes near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, on April 24, 2026, killing Islam Al-Tanani — who was pregnant with twins — along with her young son Hamza and infant daughter Naya. Her husband Khalid Al-Tanani survived and recounted: 'I went inside and found my wife, Islam Al-Tanani, martyred, and my son, Hamza, and Naya in her mother's arms.' The Al-Tanani family's funerals were held on April 25. The strike near the only functioning hospital in northern Gaza drew international condemnation. Gaza's civil defense agency confirmed the deaths. The incident contributed to the April 24 death toll of at least 11–12 Palestinians. Since the October 2025 ceasefire, Palestinian health authorities have documented 811 deaths and 2,278 injuries as of April 26.
