IDF Kills Brothers Carrying Water, Strikes Desalination Station in Shujayea — Gaza City
Israeli forces killed brothers Mohammed and Eid Abu Warda as they transported water by vehicle on Mansoura Street in Shujayea neighborhood, east of Gaza City. A third brother was wounded with moderate injuries. Separately, an Israeli drone struck a water desalination station in the same Shujayea neighborhood, killing one civilian and injuring two others. UNICEF stated the Mansoura water filling station — the only operational truck filling point for the Mekorot water supply line serving Gaza City — was struck by Israeli fire early Friday morning. Two UNICEF-contracted water truck drivers (brothers Eid and Mahmoud Abu Warda per Xinhua) were killed and two others injured. UNICEF suspended all contractor activities at the site and called for an immediate Israeli investigation, warning that critical water infrastructure 'must never be targeted.' The attacks cut off water delivery to hundreds of thousands of Gazans dependent on the Mekorot line.
