Iranian Ballistic Missile Strikes Ne'ot Hovav Chemical Industrial Zone in the Negev
An Iranian ballistic missile evaded Israeli air defense systems and struck the Ne'ot Hovav (Ramat Hovav) chemical industrial zone located approximately 12 kilometers south of Beersheba on March 29. At least one person was injured; hazmat teams were deployed amid fears of toxic chemical release from the large industrial complex, which houses Israel's most significant concentration of chemical manufacturing and hazardous waste treatment facilities. The IDF Home Front Command confirmed the impact and ordered evacuation of the immediate surrounding area as a precautionary measure. The strike followed the previous day's Iranian missile penetration at Eshtaol and represented continued evidence of Israeli air defense gaps against the Iranian ballistic missile campaign. The IDF and Israeli Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident.
