Iran's Army Chief Offers $30,000 Bounty for Killing or Capturing US Troops, Doubled for Women

| Iran Conflict

Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Maj. Gen. Amir Hatami announced a reward of 5 billion tomans (~$30,000) for anyone who kills or captures a US service member in the region, to be doubled to $60,000 if carried out by an Iranian woman. State media quoted Hatami saying the scheme followed 'the large number of requests' from Iranians wanting to contribute to the war effort, and that any weapon used in such an operation would be purchased by the Army at twice its market value for permanent display in a dedicated museum. 'Everyone should know that under no circumstances can American bases return to their previous state,' Hatami said. He gave no details on where or when such an operation was expected.
