Iran Rejects All Ceasefire Scenarios — FM Araghchi: 'No Scenario for a Ceasefire'
Iran has doubled down on its rejection of cease-fire talks on Nowruz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared: 'The United States started it and is responsible for all the consequences of this war, human and financial, whether for Iran, for the region, or for the entire world.' A senior Iranian security official stated that 'at this stage there is no scenario for a ceasefire and no relevant option for ending the war.' Iran also asserted that Nowruz represented an opportunity to 'steel resolve,' not negotiate. This directly contradicts Trump administration messaging suggesting the war would end 'in the very near future.' Iran's rejection of negotiations came as the Iranian Red Crescent reported more than 18,000 civilians injured and tens of thousands of civilian structures damaged. The conflict has killed more than 2,300 people across Iran, Lebanon, and Israel. US State Department authorized emergency arms sales to Gulf countries to bolster air defense capabilities.
