Israeli Reports: Mojtaba Khamenei Wounded, Mother/Wife/Son Reportedly Killed
Israeli intelligence reports indicate Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader appointed March 8, was wounded in an Israeli airstrike and that his mother, wife, and son were killed. These reports have not been independently verified and Iran has not confirmed. No photo or video of Mojtaba Khamenei has emerged since he was named Supreme Leader. Iranian state media insists he is 'leading' the defense. US intelligence officially assesses his status as 'unknown but degraded.' Trump said on March 17 it was 'unclear if Mojtaba Khamenei is alive or not.' US intelligence separately assessed that the Iranian regime will remain structurally intact even if Mojtaba Khamenei is killed or incapacitated.
