Turkey FM Hakan Fidan Launches Diplomatic Push for Iran Ceasefire
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is leading an active diplomatic push to broker a ceasefire between the US-Israeli coalition and Iran, positioning Turkey as an essential neutral intermediary. Fidan held back-to-back meetings with Iranian, Gulf, and European counterparts and spoke by phone with Secretary Rubio. Turkey has maintained open diplomatic channels with Tehran throughout the conflict and is one of the few NATO members that has neither condemned Iran's nuclear program nor supported the US-Israeli military campaign. Fidan stated Turkey's goal is to 'prevent the complete destruction of a neighboring state' and bring parties to talks before Iran's institutional capacity collapses entirely. No ceasefire framework has yet been agreed upon.
