Trump and Iran Both Reject International Ceasefire Mediation
Sources close to US–Middle East diplomacy confirmed that President Trump rebuffed efforts by regional allies and European partners to launch ceasefire negotiations with Iran. A senior White House official stated Trump is 'not interested in that right now.' Iran simultaneously refused negotiations while US-Israeli strikes continue. Iran's FM Araghchi reiterated: 'We are not asking for a ceasefire.' Oman attempted to reopen communications but received no US response. Egypt also tried to facilitate dialogue without success. Iran's top security official Ali Larijani and FM Araghchi sought to use Oman as a conduit to VP Vance — no progress reported. President Pezeshkian has stated three conditions for peace: recognition of legitimate rights, reparations, and international guarantees — conditions Trump has not acknowledged.
