Pakistan FO Condemns Jama Masjid Closure, Andrabi Sentence, Calls for Release
Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, at the weekly press briefing, condemned the continued closure of Srinagar's historic Jama Masjid for the seventh consecutive year since August 5, 2019, calling it 'a serious violation of religious freedoms and fundamental human rights.' The FO also strongly condemned the life imprisonment sentence handed to Kashmiri separatist leader Asiya Andrabi and demanded her immediate release, calling the verdict politically motivated. Pakistan reiterated its support for Kashmiri self-determination rights.
