ICE FY2025 Data: 442,637 Removals Released; Agency Sets 1 Million Deportation Annual Target

Axios reported on April 15 and the Washington Times on April 15-16 that ICE's first full-year deportation data under Trump's second term shows 442,637 total removals in FY2025 — combining approximately 330,000 formal removals and 110,000 voluntary returns. This is the first official ICE data release under Trump 2.0 and represents the highest combined removal figure in the agency's history. Through the first half of FY2026 (October 2025 through April 2026), ICE has carried out 234,236 removals — an average of 1,286 per day. In budget documentation submitted to Congress, ICE has now formally set a target of 1 million deportations per year — a figure the agency said reflects 'expanded operational capacity and ongoing commitment to enforcing immigration laws.' At the current pace, ICE would fall short of the 1 million target for FY2026. An independent analysis through the Deportation Data Project showed ICE is on pace for approximately 470,000 total removals in FY2026 unless enforcement is significantly accelerated.
