ICE Lodges Detainer for Venezuelan National Charged with Killing 18-Year-Old in Chicago

ICE lodged an arrest detainer for Jose Medina-Medina, a Venezuelan criminal alien arrested in connection with the killing of 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman in Chicago, Illinois. ICE asked sanctuary-policy politicians not to release him. The case was highlighted in a DHS press release as an example of what officials call the dangers of sanctuary city policies that prevent ICE from taking custody of individuals in local jails.
