Court Orders One-Month Pre-Trial Detention for Ex-Minister Hankó
On October 1 an investigating judge at the Kecskemét District Court ordered Balázs Hankó, the former culture and innovation minister, held for one month in the ~17 billion forint NKA grant case, citing flight risk and risk of influencing the proceedings. Hankó, who denies wrongdoing, and his lawyer appealed; the defence says the legal requirements were not met. Fidesz calls the case a show trial.
