At Least 11 Commercial Ships Attacked in Strait of Hormuz Since Early October
At least 11 commercial ships have been attacked in and around the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of October, intensifying the maritime security crisis in the world's most critical oil chokepoint. The sustained attack tempo is forcing insurers to sharply raise war-risk premiums and compelling shipping companies to reroute vessels around the Cape of Good Hope, adding weeks and millions of dollars in costs per voyage.
