Haitian diaspora members rallied on Sixth Avenue in South Florida on August 29, 2026, demanding the Haitian government intensify efforts against gang violence and calling for the release of prisoners held by gangs, while also protesting the Trump administration's deportation flights to Haiti following the termination of Temporary Protected Status for more than 300,000 Haitians.
