ECB Makes First Rate Cut Since 2019
The ECB cut its deposit facility rate by 25 basis points from 4.00% to 3.75% — the first ECB rate reduction since September 2019. The move came as eurozone inflation fell toward the 2% target while economic growth remained weak, especially in Germany. ECB President Lagarde signaled further cuts would be data-dependent.
