Bruno Le Maire Publishes Manifesto for 'Another France' Ahead of 2027 Race

| France

Former Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire published a roughly sixty-page manifesto titled a text for 'another France,' setting out three priorities — restoring state 'authority,' securing 'prosperity' through pension and tax changes including raising the retirement age to 65 and a VAT increase paired with lower payroll taxes, and defending European 'sovereignty' via a proposed federation of a handful of core EU states. Le Maire said he is not (yet) a declared candidate but described the document as a 'necessary vision to win collectively in 2027,' positioning it against both Jean-Luc Mélenchon's left and Marine Le Pen's far right.
