François Patriat, Former Socialist Minister and Early Macron Loyalist, Dies at 83

François Patriat, a former Socialist minister who became one of Emmanuel Macron's earliest and most prominent supporters, died at the age of 83. Patriat was a senator and longtime figure in French left-wing politics who crossed the political divide to back Macron's La République En Marche movement from its founding.
