Israel Hospitalizes Third Suspected Ebola Patient After Return From DRC
Israel's Health Ministry said on 11 August 2026 that a 24-year-old man who had recently returned from the DRC was hospitalized in isolation at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba after developing a fever, with test results expected within 24 hours. The ministry stated 'at this stage, Ebola is only a suspicion' and noted it has launched an epidemiological investigation. It is the third such suspected case in Israel in recent months — the two previous patients, treated at Sheba Medical Center and Rambam Health Care Campus, both tested negative, and Israel has never recorded a confirmed Ebola case.
